Body language and videoconferencing

As the tone and inflection of an audio conference call, so the body language and facial expressions of a video conference. What type of information that we give away during a video conference, although we can not talk? What can you infer about if we just look at our actions?

Read what is said is not a large part of life's activities. Although I am not looking for signs and indicators, you can still read what the other person's body is clear, and we act andconsequently feel. If you're on a date and the other person sitting with his arms crossed and constantly scanning the crowd, you do not need, this article alludes to that person knows it is not in you.

What to do with video, you ask? Some people think that in a video conference considered unstable or too small to read body language. They believe that only by looking at someone's head most of the time. Well, times have changed and technologyscored better. While you could still have picked up on some nuances open on the old technology, now get a clear view. And if you see only one side, well, that's where all the facial expressions.

Focus on your signal, your habits is a great way to meet others. For example, in constant contact with the face or hunching talking about someone who is not secure. Instead, keep the right attitude and practice keep her hands in her lap. It 's easierVideo-conferencing: Hands off camera.

When you know more about what kind of non-verbal signals you send, you may wish to better manage or operate more efficiently. The first step is to spend some time talking in a mirror. Better yet, put your webcam and record yourself talking and gestures, of course, naturally a few minutes. When you examine the record, you see exactly what looks like a video-conference. Now, asYou can make changes?

Watch the recording again, but this time ignore all but left you. Try to feel all the gestures do with that hand. Imagine that the hand of another. What kind of ideas and non-verbal messages you get from that side? Repeat the process with your other body parts visible.

Now is the time to rotate the image, but look at your body now. Attitude importance and not just one body part iswhole package that the posting. It 'good to keep that in mind, especially if you work to determine whether a particular gesture or tone perfectly. If the gesture does not match the rest of what your body says, there will be false or untrue. At least you are sending mixed messages.

If you've spent much time practicing gestures or body language is studied, the next time in a videoconference, try hyper bewust niet te zijn where your hands,How are you, and as an expression on his face. If you focus on yourself, your body loose and unnatural. Also, you forget what the other says ... verbal or nonverbal.

10 tips for powerful presentations

Presentations for the dissemination of information to teach, or sell something. With this in mind, it is very important that the presentations are effective. A powerful presentation can be on any subject, no matter how trivial. It is not the person who makes a powerful presentation, is how you present.

Powerful Presentations begin and end with you, the presenter. Their success is based on your preparation, planning and execution. It may seem daunting, but if youyour work and follow-through is virtually guaranteed success. The following tips are to focus on web and video presentations, but the basic message of each can be used to fight face to face presentations.

1. Starting well before the presentation, you should research your target audience. Who am I? What is involved? How long is their attention span? What motivates them? If you know the answer to each of these questions, yourpresentation will not only better reception, but will also be much more effective. After that, planning is essential to say. What are the highlights? What are the talking points? How PowerPoint slides look? You should prepare notes and slides. First draw your ideas for slides on paper and explain. When you are satisfied, only then can we begin to create on your computer.

2. While providing slides, please note that you wantpowerful and effective presentation. To achieve this, get rid of all the elements on each slide that distracts from your central message. Less means more, especially when trying to reach people. Running with that theme, to avoid bullet points. Instead of using words to pictures or images illustrate the points. Photos get their message across immediately and fully.

3. When you begin the meeting, not just hang the "slide to a page title on the screen. Start thingsright with live video from you! Web conferencing is much more than a simple sharing of PowerPoint use, so everything at your disposal. While the start of the presentation and making the issue, you have the option of a personal relationship with your viewers to do. Only after everything is in full swing and it's time for slides to be used it must switch from video to PowerPoint.

4. Unless you are riveted to the theme, participants lose interestafter 30-45 minutes. If possible, stop the slide screen to see if there are any questions. Looking for a few minutes with the possibility of a question or two questions will focus your audience ... with at least 30-45 minutes.

5. During the first part of the presentation, when your face is all I see, be sure to watch your webcam lens. It may seem a bit 'strange at first, especially if youcan look at the screen and see the others, but eye contact is important to do - even through a webcam.

6. If you find a camera while making sure to put them right under your webcam. This will show less movement of the eyes when you look down. Also, since you do not have your notes right or left, will not be seen as the eyes of an unreliable person is rapidly looking away and vice versa. To continue to trust, set the camera and notes sothat can be displayed during the video presentation. The camera can capture only the head and shoulders, but you will feel, and appear more confident and in control.

7. If the script what you say and feel more like a guideline. Know your subject and ad lib as much as possible. You do not want to seem like you are reading your message. Bullet points for their personal use - instead of a script - is the best way tonatural flow of conversation.

8. For the "meat" of your presentation, there are some things you can do to make the message more powerful. Start with your strongest argument or talking point. The idea is that not only address their attention, you get to make a good first impression. This will also help you to be concise in your presentation. They will appreciate not taking more time than necessary to get the point across.

9. If the presentation does notforget that you're still technically stage. Stay positive and enthusiastic. Smile too! Even if you're not on video, participants can "hear" your smile. Do not go too fast or slow. Avoid "UMS" and this gap filler with all your strength. Keep up your voice sound normal. If something starts to slip the leash, do not hesitate to pause and drink some water. Regroup, then resume with gusto.

10. After the presentation, but before the Q & A back tovideo on your conclusion. Want your Closing statements powerful and meaningful. Now is the time to make sure the public knows what you want and what you want to do. Make a "sound bite" from the presentation to say the end. This should be a short, sharp, memorable punch that the connection between you and them will seal.

Remember everyone knows wants to be guided, convince ... not disappoint them!

All parties call the MCU unit, or the MCU unit can also call the parties which are going to participate, in sequence. There are MCU bridges for IP and ISDN-based videoconferencing. There are MCUs which are pure software, and others which are a combination of hardware and software. An MCU is characterised according to the number of simultaneous calls it can handle, its ability to conduct transposing of data rates and protocols, and features such as Continuous Presence, in which multiple parties can be seen onscreen at once.

Video Conferencing - A Web of Options

In the not-so-distant past, video conferencing was reserved for organizations with money to spare. Today, business professionals from organizations large and small can easily connect with customers, vendors, employees, and colleagues using a variety of conferencing tools. While it's no longer necessary to invest tens of thousands of dollars in video and transmission equipment, it's important to know the pros and cons of the many options available so that you can select the right option at the right time.

Online Video Conferencing
Online services such as GoToMeeting and WebEx make it possible for participants to participate in online conferences - if each participant has an appropriately equipped computer. These services are paid services with recurring monthly charges. For about $50 each month, the host can host unlimited video conferences online. Participants will need a computer with Internet access and a sound card or a smart phone (if supported) in order to participate. Ideally, each participant will also have a webcam.

While inexpensive, these services have their limitations including the number of participants that can participate at any given time. Participants that do not have computers equipped with microphones will need to call in using a telephone in order to speak during the meeting.

If you need to hold regular video conferences with small groups, these services are well worth considering.

Skype Video Conferencing
Currently, Skype users with webcams can enjoy face-to-face video chats with another Skype user. A beta Skype tool allows up to four users to participate in a video conference. These are free video conferencing options that will do under some circumstances. If you need to communicate one-on-one and the other user also has Skype and a webcam, these chats can be an effective means of communication. For larger groups, this is not the best choice. Similar tools like Google Talk have similar limitations.

Studio Videoconferencing
While the do-it-yourself video conferencing tools have their place, sometimes it makes sense to either rent time at a video conferencing studio, also known as a telepresence room, or renting professional equipment. For example, if your entire management team needs to attend a video conference with regional sales teams spread around the globe, you could book time at video conferencing studios. Studios are equipped with everything that you need to conduct an effective video conference including the video conferencing equipment as well as conference tables, chairs, and other necessities. Studios also allow you to project a more professional image as the studios are decorated professionally.

Not only can your teams go to studios for the meeting, many conferencing studios will bring their equipment onsite. Either way, the setup and operation of the video conferencing equipment is in capable hands. You don't need to worry about the technical requirements of the meeting which means that you can focus on the meeting itself. Using a video conferencing service is a smart choice for any video conference that needs to go off without a hitch. It is also ideal for larger meetings.

While there are many options available, each option has its pros and cons. By understanding which video conference tool is best for which situation, you will be able to hold effective virtual meetings under a number of different circumstances. For informal face-to-face chats with your far-off employees, consider using Skype or Google Talk; for regular team meetings with 15 (or fewer) participants, one of the online video conferencing tools may be sufficient. For professional conferences where everything has to be perfect and where many participants will be involved, book time at a video conferencing studio.

Streaming Video - What Are The Options?

Video streaming is rapidly becoming the chosen vehicle for webmasters to get their message across to visitors much easier. Initially, the cost of video streaming put it out of reach of most people and as technology has advanced, the cost incurred for streaming videos has reduced.

There are many different formats available to create streaming video with the most common formats being:

1. Adobe Flash (FLV)

2. Quicktime

3. RealMedia

4. Windows Media

All formats have distinct advantages and disadvantages, with the ultimate decision coming down to personal preference. However, FLV has emerged as one of the strongest contenders in the video streaming market due to notable users such as Google Video, Reuters.com and YouTube.

It isn't only the large publishers who have favored FLV streaming, but thousands of smaller webmasters who have chosen FLV as their video streaming format. The simple reason is due to the lower cost and the fact that it is one of the most widely-supported cross-platform players available. It is a common plugin that means virtually everyone will be able to view videos produced for the FLV format.

For the majority of webmasters who experience moderate traffic to their website, FLV videos can be stored on their web host and embedded into their website content to improve user experience. When visitors click to view the video it can play straight away if it uses progressive download streaming.

Progressive download streaming means there is no special streaming server needed to host video files and visitors are not required to download the full video before viewing it. This means there is no additional cost to webmasters who want to add video to websites as they do not need to pay for expensive dedicated video streaming servers.

FLV is highly suited to the progressive download method as Flash uses two main file formats, swf and flv files. The swf files are embedded into HTML/Php/Asp pages and act as the web video player while the flv file can be stored on an external server or within the same server and streamed through the web video players.

If you want to provide videos on your website you can choose to upload the video to video sharing sites such as YouTube or you can host your own. The most affordable way to host your own videos will be using FLV format with progressive download streaming. If you already have an existing backlog of videos, you can normally convert them to FLV format with a quality flv converter.

Overall, although there are various options available to add video to websites, streaming video software can be expensive if you want to have only the highest quality video. However, FLV format has been designed for web playback and is high quality, compact and favored by thousands of smaller website publishers. Why not add some cool web video players to your website today and provide a better browsing experience for your users?

Business Video Conferencing - An Effective Marketing Tool

For an experienced businessman, he always knows that when it comes to closing the deal, it is always best to do it face to face with the client. Not only does this simple action show sincerity but also projects a better image of your company and show the client your commitment to that agreement. However, not all meetings can be done face to face especially for Multinational Corporations that has businesses all around the world.

This is when business video conferencing becomes an indispensable business tool. What is this form of conferencing? For those who may not be familiar with the term, this form of conferencing is a virtual meeting that is done via the internet whereby participants are able to communicate with one another in front of a screen. The scenario reenacts an exact face to face meeting and members of the meeting who could be continents apart can now easily converse as if they were sitting just next to one another.

There are several benefits when it comes to this form of conferencing. For starters, a company that uses business video conferencing will be saving their expenses especially on travel cost. That's because the company no longer needs to send their representative all the way to meet up with the client for a meeting and can instead be done right in their office.

Apart from that, another good thing about this form of video conferencing with the other party also helps the environment by consuming less paper. Since most of the conferencing will be taking place or be done online, everything will be saved in the computer thus avoiding any wastage of paper and help preserve the environment.

This mode of conferencing is also popular because it happens to be affordable and can be easily set up. The most basic video conferencing tools would be to have a computer, a webcam and a stable internet connection. With just these simple requirements, an individual can start a video conference almost immediately.

Besides that, companies that uses this form of video conferencing service also creates more convenience and freedom both for themselves and the client. That's because clients no longer have to rush to meetings as business video conferencing can be done anywhere; even at their own home. The same applies for the company as their staffs also no longer have to leave the office in order to meet a client. All meetings can be done swiftly and just as effectively through this method of conference communication. This not only saves time but also shortens the duration needed for a deal to be closed.

In this competitive business environment, this form of video conferencing has proved to be a crucial and mandatory service for any company that wishes to broaden their business worldwide. There is no doubt that virtual conference is now the new and effective way of conducting meetings. A manager based in China can now easily communicate with another manager in Australia or India with ease using the conferencing method via video streaming. However, there is the case of different time zones so each person will be having the meeting at different times. An acceptable sacrifice considering the amount of money and time saved from business video conferencing.

The Power of YouTube

Anytime you hear about the company acquired by Google called YouTube in the news, it's mostly because some king or queen of a country saw an offensive video disrespecting them, or because of political issues. Video Marketing Research

With the popularity of video marketing increasing by leaps and bounds, video market research is not far behind and people are using videos for their market research. An easy way to do this is to upload some videos to popular sites like YouTube Or Google Videos. The videos that you upload should be relevant to the product or service that you are offering. The advantage of using video market research is that you can see how the market responds to your videos by looking at the amount of views that your videos have got.

Sites like YouTube also give viewers the ability to submit their views and comments about the videos that they watch. If the videos have been able to connect emotionally with the people in your target market then you will get a large number of responses and feedback from people. This way you can learn what the prospective customer is thinking about your products or services. Video market research, when used in this fashion, urges the customers to give a much faster response and thus helps the marketer to improve the products by following customer feedback.

Video Market research can also help affiliate marketers to find out popular niches by looking at the number of views that a certain video is getting. If a video in a certain niche is getting a large number of views and positive feedback from the viewers then you can be sure that the niche is very popular and profitable.

During the Video market research phase, you could also offer the people a free report or a free software and urge them to complete a survey where you could find out more about what they are thinking about your product . An even better, video market research strategy is to convince your prospective customers to subscribe to your mailing list to receive updates about your product and help in beta testing. People would readily agree to subscribe to your mailing list and beta test your product if you offer them some sort of a reward, such as a discount when the final product is ready for the market.

In this way, you can use this free dvd to not only gain feedback about product development, but also how to find people that will readily buy your product when it is launched.

Webinar Host - Choosing the Best One For You

One of the most important things with webinars is the host service that is used. A Webinar host is a necessary for any webinar. In most instances, you are going to want to go with a hosting provider that is going to provide you with all the features that you need in order to run your webinar. This means that in many cases you are going to want to look for a business that offers you both the hosting for the video but also offers you the ability to use either phone conferencing or is going to have voice over IP options.

You may also want to consider other things such as pricing plans. This is primarily going to be determined by the amount of use your webinar is going to have. For example, if you are going to be using it infrequently then you may want to consider what is called a per minute per seat rate. This type of payment plan is offered by hosts that deal with individuals or businesses that are infrequent users of webinars or who have webinars that have multiple levels.

For example, say you are training an entire department. You can do this in a single webinar by having all employees start out for the basics, then give the general information for each level with managers being the last individuals to leave the session. You are only changed for the number of people who are in the session and viewing at any given time. For infrequent uses, this is a perfect solution.

For individuals who have frequent webinars a flat rate monthly free may be more appropriate. This includes up to a certain amount of bandwidth and a certain number of seats per session. There are usually multiple packages allowing for as much or as little as you need. The final package is usually a per seat fee. With this fee package, usually it is so much per seat up to a certain number and then they may have discounts for seating after that number and usually include bandwidth charges.

Features may or may not be extra and may be available as independent additions to your package or available in packages. The features to look for in a webinar host are one such as voice over IP or phone conferencing options. You may also want to look for things such as chat rooms or even message boards. This allows you pick out the various options that are going to work the best for your webinar and your clients.

Researching into a webinar host that is going to provide you with what you need to run your business and your webinar is an essential part of creating a webinar and getting it out to the people, you are trying to reach. You will want to consider feature packages, fee plan and exactly what you need when it comes to a webinar host for your business and your clients, customers or staff.

How to Create a Webinar That Dazzles

Signing up to play host to a webinar is not enough to make this online technology work in your favor. To pull off a presentation that's effective and doesn't fail to dazzle does require some planning. Fortunately, learning how to create a webinar is not as difficult as many believe. This format is very easy to use and personalize to one's advantage.

So, how can you create a webinar that meets your needs? Follow these basic steps to put yourself on the right path:

oSelect the right facilitator - There are a variety of webinar vendors offering services on the Internet. Look for a company with a reputation that speaks for itself and you will be on the right track. Pay attention to the potential features of a webinar package, too. The best companies will offer such things as visual and audio communications, transcription services, faxing ability, security and even voting options.

oPlan your meeting - Making certain that a webinar is an effective means of communication goes beyond selecting a good facilitator. To pull off your purpose, you will need to plan out your meeting, seminar or exchange of information. For example, you might want to create a presentation using a program like PowerPoint, set an agenda and even enable group discussion functions. When you select the right facilitator, the infrastructure will be in place for you to use your imagination to its fullest extent.

oInvite participants - Learning how to create a webinar is not enough to pull off an event that's a success. You will need to also make sure your desired participants have the information they need to find the right site and get into the "meeting room."

It is possible for just about anyone to create a webinar that dazzles participants. When planning goes into the proposition, meetings, seminars and even inter-company collaborative efforts can all be pulled off with ease.

How To Webcam Chat Live On The Internet

Live webcam chat, also known as live video chat, or video conferencing, is the hip thing on the dating and social networking scene right now. After all, what's better than to see each other while chatting or instant messaging, and without leaving your home and in real-time?

This article explains how to webcam chat on internet, and what you need to get started.

Basically, you can webcam chat in two ways:

1) by audio or,

2) by text. When you video chat by audio, your can see and hear each other. By text, you type in the messages, but you still can see each other on your computer screens.

Before getting started in live webcam chatting there are a few things you will need. These are:

1. A computer with a later version Windows such as XP or Vista. Older versions may not support this relatively new form of communication.

2. A high speed internet connection (think DSL, broadband, cable, T1, Fiber Optics etc.): A dial-up connection is not be practical due to lugging issues.

3. Webcam: This is a web camera, popularly known as a webcam or cam for short. Some computers already come with an in-built webcam. Webcams are relatively inexpensive.

4. Software: Your webcam will typically come with a disk that installs the necessary software in your computer. This is as easy as plugging the disk into your CD drive and following the instructions. The software interprets and uploads images to be accessed through the Internet.

5. A web server: This is also referred to as a webcam chat room. It is, basically, a host site that facilitates the communication. The server must be robust enough to handle the video load which can easily cause an ordinary server to crush.

Of the above, perhaps the most difficult to decide on is the server. Typically, you and your chat friend(s) must all use the same company. The important thing here is to know why you want to chat. Do you simply want to connect with friends or relatives? Do you want to find a date? Or do your interests lean toward the risqué?

If you just want to chat with friends or relatives, then you can use one of the popular Internet services (Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, etc.) or a social networking site (MySpace.com, for example).

For those whose purpose is dating and/or erotic adult encounters, services do exist that specialize in adult webcam dating. Most adult webcam chat websites do allow free basic membership.

Whatever your purpose for webcam chatting, you should sign up with a reputable company. Why?

Well, some video chat companies have been known to install Trojan horses into an unsuspecting person's computer. Trojan horse software can activate your webcam without your knowledge, potentially catching you in a compromising situation - and broadcasting it worldwide!

The Many Uses of Web Conferencing in Business

As the world experiences more globalization, businesses must adapt in order to stay competitive. That means adopting technologies that can help a business to minimize costs and maximize profits. Many technologies that take advantage of the interconnectedness of the online world can help business do a number of things less expensively than before. One such technology is web conferencing, which enables two or more people to sit down together in conference--even if they are sitting in front of their computers in different parts of the world.

Web conferencing can be used to hold meetings, seminars, training sessions, interviews, sales presentations, client calls, and various other events in real time over the Internet. Since the web event takes place in a virtual space immediately means savings in the use or rental of event facilities. Furthermore, participants do not have to fly to a central destination in order to attend the event. This can mean thousands of dollars saved in travel expenses.

The functionality of web conferencing platforms is highly versatile and constructive. They can give the group access to a shared screen, which allows them to display the visual information on a single computer screen with everyone else in the conference. So a presenter can run a PowerPoint presentation on one computer and know that, through screen sharing, it will be viewed by all of the attendees on their own computer monitors.

Web conferencing also enables real-time communication between participants, using either instant messaging or Internet voice calls. People can easily take and answer questions, engage in group discussion, or include a running commentary with real-time communication solutions.

Other web conferencing functions include the ability to share a virtual white board, share and run applications in real time, share computer files, and browse the Internet as a group.

On most platforms, you can also integrate video conferencing into the web conference. Normally, voice and text chatting is adequate for most communication. But sometimes businessmen want to speak to each other face-to-face, even if this involves cameras and video screens. It can be a way of adding a personal feel to warm up the proceedings, and give people a sense of trust and solidarity. Video conferencing is good for making client and sales calls online, and can also help in business negotiation.

You definitely need to at least consider implementing a web conferencing solution in your office. It can help you save in some costs and improve the way your company does business.

What Benefits Can Web Conferencing Provide?

In recent years, traffic on the information highway has sped up phenomenally, to the point that people now regularly download files and videos on the Internet rather quickly and easily. The high-speed Internet also has great benefits to offer in the arena of business communication. It can allow business people to communicate inexpensively with each other across great distances, using an Internet application known as Web conferencing. This tool can actually save businesses a significant amount of time and money.

To better understand the benefits that a Web conferencing application can provide, just think back to a time not too long ago when the Internet was not yet widespread. Back then, when a business person had the need to confer with a client or a colleague working in a different city or country, there were really only two possible options. The first option would be to have a telephone conference. But that had its limitations. There were many concepts, and especially visual ideas, that could not be easily explained or discussed on the telephone conference call. Also, long-distance calls were expensive. The second option would be for the people involved to meet up. But that necessitated going on a business trip to the location of the meeting, entailing a number of travel expenses. All in all, such a meeting would tend be very inconvenient and seldom cost-effective. That is not even considering the time spent on taking that trip, time that the businesspersons are taking away from their regular duties.

That was in the past. Today the Internet connects people globally, and the vast distances can be traversed in a single mouse click. Through Web conferencing, businesspeople are now able to hold long-distance conferences, sales presentations, training seminars, client consultations, product demonstrations, group discussions, and many more events in which those attending do not even have to be together in a single room. All that is required is for the participants to have a computer, a Web browser, and a high-speed Internet connection. And there is no need for anyone to spend a great deal of money on an expensive business trip to some foreign city. Web conferencing does not just allow people to talk to each other over great distances. It can also enable them to give a presentation, share a file or application, make a comment on a virtual whiteboard, or see each other's faces through video conferencing. Web conferencing is truly a useful and multi-functional application that makes international business communication easier than ever before.

Virtual Office & Web Conferencing! Also Called Keeping In Touch With The Family Or Your Business

Have you always promised yourself that you would never take one of those working vacations like all of those other "crazies" that you've seen? Or, are you glad your kids chose a college so far away that you don't have to see them or hear from them (accept for holidays of course... because how can you stop them from coming home for a good home-cooked meal)? If that describes you then you probably don't want to read the rest.

But, if you are the kind, perhaps one of those "crazies like me", that ends up taking a vacation only to find it's actually more refreshing to be part of your office while on vacation, and/or the tempo of your heart paces more comfortably when you are able to touch your kids even a thousand miles away, then I am certainly happy to share this free insight into today's way of keeping in touch today. It's mainly a matter of keeping up with the fast pace of changing technology.

But, who can keep up with technology today?

What I'd like to do today, in this article, is take a quick glimpse into some of the technologies available today for us that find comfort by keeping in touch with our 'important stuff'.

Three technologies we're peeking at today are the virtual office, Wiki, and Weconferencing.

It's so easy to look around and see the technology flying by so fast that... well, it runs on by and we didn't even see it.
Technology has actually outgrown even the telephone. Not to say that it hasn't incorporated the phone in its' growth because it definitely has. But, today's new technologies have gotten to the point where the phone is so much the lesser necessary evil that we've all come to rely on.
In this article, we are focusing on three major new innovations in the cyber-world today that, without doubt, are propelling the communications world into the future.

The three accelerating applications today are:

o The Virtual Office;
o Wiki; and
o Webconferencing

With the virtual office you can use its many applications to set up a group calendar and address book, delegate tasks to other members of the group, broadcast family or company news and perhaps shoot out reminders concerning birthdays, meetings, etc.
You set up the virtual office and you decide who becomes a member and who doesn't, what can and cannot be shared, and who can or cannot do the sharing.
A good way to try it and find out its' benefits in your world is to start out with a basic version which can be obtained for free. That's always a good thing, isn't it?

And by incorporating Wiki in your virtual office you'll have set up a web page that you allow (or disallow) members to write, format, edit, and link information and members with permissions can edit or revise the page.

As for webconferencing, there really is really nothing simpler than setting up your own video-conferencing stations. Assuming each member of the family or your office stations already have speakers or headsets all you need is hook up the internet (broadband), a microphone and a web cameras to the computers. Bingo, you're in there.

With your microphone and web-cam you've certainly cut back on any reasons (excuses) for absenteeism at any family or office meetings.

Summary:

Put three things together virtual office, Wiki, and web-conferencing, you'll find that there is nothing that you as a group can't do!

Already have the web-cam, speakers, and microphone? All you need for your family, workgroups and business teams to begin sharing and keeping in touch is a web-based collaboration tool.

Web Conferencing Solutions

A web conferencing solution is an application you can purchase to enable you to easily
hold conferences online. It enables you to hold conferences in cyberspace in much the
same manner that you would have a conference call via the telephone. However, these
solutions allow you to invite many people to your conference from remote locations
make presentations to them in the same way as you would if you were all meeting in an
actual conference room. With these solutions, you each person can give feedback, share
notes and work with each other through a multimedia design.

When you compare the cost of web conferencing software and applications to the travel
expense, the costs of renting a large conference room and the time away from the office,
you will see that there is no comparison. The amount of money businesses save through
this application is the reason that these solutions are now the way companies hold their
business meetings. Some of the features of the solution include a private meeting room.
real time voice communication, a chat room for the participants, interactive white-board
features and capabilities to share desktops among participants. You can do all the same
things as you can by meeting face to face with less costs.

There are so many different web conferencing applications available that you do need to
do your research to find one that is right for you and your business. Some of these
applications allow a limited number of participants, while others can accommodate
unlimited numbers. You usually pay an annual fee and you don't need to hire a network
administrator to help you set things up. In fact you don't have to install anything on your
computer and there is help available whenever you need it.

Benefits of Video Email

Although video email has yet to take off on a worldwide basis, it is safe to say that this day is coming. After all, everybody loves to use videos when they can. Don't you agree that sending a video email could offer many benefits over simple words? The fact of the matter is that while video email is not hot with everybody right now, once it starts to spread it will catch on big time. All in all, there are too many benefits for video email to lag behind for much longer.

So what are the benefits of video email, you may ask? Here are three that you will definitely come in contact with the second that you begin to use video email on a regular basis.

1. When you send video emails the recipient is going to have a much easier time understanding you. After all, a video email is just like sitting across the table from somebody. While they cannot respond to you in real time, guess what? They can simply make another video of their own and email it back to you.

2. For many people, typing emails is not always fun. In fact, for those people who do not like to write or type it can be downright annoying. This is where video email can really pick up the slack. Instead of having to write each email out and then proofread it, you can instead say what you want and then send a video with one click of the mouse. This is a great benefit no matter who you are. The convenience factor is definitely something that you should take into consideration.

3. Getting started with video email is not as hard as you may think. The main reason that many people do not use video email is because they think it is too far advanced for them to figure out. But when it comes down to it this is not the truth. To get started with video email you need two things. First off, you need an email account. Luckily, you can register one of these for free. Additionally, you need to buy a webcam. This will allow you to shoot your video emails, and in turn send them directly from your pc. It is very easy to use a webcam, and once you send a couple videos you will be surprised at just how much you learn.

All in all, the benefits of video email are well varied. The three above are the ones you are sure to encounter early on, but as you send more and more video emails you will become aware of many other benefits. This way of communicating is definitely the wave of the future.

Taken to Court - Video and Web Conferencing in the Judicial System

Imagine receiving a subpoena to appear in court, yet instead of requiring you to physically be present at the courthouse, you are given a website address for a location and asked to appear at a certain time by visiting the website link. When the link is clicked, your living room or office magically transforms into a courtroom and you find yourself meeting face-to-face with a judge. This may sound like a fictional occurrence, but it's not. The truth is, virtually attending court through a webcam has become an ongoing trend in the judicial system.

With limited resources and judges whose time is spread thin, legal professionals and court officials are embracing video and web conferencing for all stages in the legal process. An efficient way to increase work load capacity, drive down legal related costs and improve upon operational security, video and web conferencing tools are being used to:

Permit defendants to appear remotely - In criminal cases, court officials are allowing unlawful defendants to appear in court through video. This cuts back on the need to transfer violent inmates from a secure location to a non-secure location with civilians around, ultimately increasing courtroom safety, while at the same time saving on transportation costs.

Interface with clients, partners or co-counsel - Law firms are holding online meetings to collaborate on case work, share briefs, review contracts, update clients on case status and study legal paperwork.

Run evidentiary and settlement hearings and proceedings - Rather than dragging both parties into court, only to find out there is not enough evidence for a case, legal teams are presenting their evidence to a judge through video-based hearings. Online web meetings are also being used to conduct settlement hearings.

Depose clients and prep for trial - Attorneys are using online video conferencing to conduct client deposition and testimony prep. All parties log into the conference without having to travel to one general meeting place. These meetings can be recorded, archived and used/reviewed if needed further on in the case.

Consult with special experts - Legal teams are reaching out to experts who may be located in another part of the world and consulting with them on case issues. These experts are also appearing as expert witnesses in "court" (via video conferencing) without having to leave their home or office.

Research and discuss potential jurors - Rather than conducting jury selection in person, court officials are meeting with and interviewing candidates through video and web conferences. This is a great advantage for potential jury members; rather than sitting at the courthouse all day waiting to be called in and interviewed, they can remotely sign into the selection process from the comforts of their office or home.

Allow remote witness testimony - Witnesses are being allowed to "appear" in court without having to travel to the courtroom. In some cases key witnesses can be put in danger by appearing in court; allowing them to provide testimony from remote locations keeps them safe and removes security risks.

As one of the fastest growing technologies, video and web conferencing provides lawyers, judges, legal professionals, court officials and witnesses with an unlimited amount of options for conducting business inside and outside the courtroom doors. It won't be long before trials move from being presented to a judge sitting behind a bench to trials being presented to a judge sitting in their office or in the comfort of their own home.

Video Conference Software

Videoconference software is a form of shared software, technically called "groupware," so that it allows several concurrent users in locations remote from each other to communicate in real time using both audio and video. Perhaps the earliest form of groupware was developed by Lotus to run on its Domino server.

Understanding Videoconferencing Software

Videoconferencing software (also called the codec) is responsible for digitally compressing audio and video streams in real time. It makes possible compression rates of up to 1:500. How does it work? In simplest terms, it produces a digital stream of 1's and 0's and then subdivides this stream into labeled packets. The packets are subsequently transmitted through either ISDN or IP (or any digital network) using either audio modems or the plain telephony network in applications that do not require high speed. Digital pulses are converted from and to analog waves.

Videoconferencing software work with other required components such as a video camera or webcam for input, computer monitor or television for output, microphones for audio input, and of course, telephones or speakers for audio output. Either an analog or digital telephone network, LAN or the Internet is used for data transfer.

Popular Software

Among the more poplar end-user videoconference software widely available these days are instant messengers, chat software, voice over internet protocol software (such as Skype), virtual room videoconferencing systems, and even Microsoft's Outlook express. To make the videoconferencing experience better for end-users, developers of videoconferencing software are continually working to improve issues with acoustic echo cancellation and multipoint control units, among others. Common problems still associated to videoconferencing software include significant delays in the transmission of voice, reverberation, and feedback. These issues have already been successfully addressed by developers. Multipoint control unit bridges for videoconferences based on IP and ISDN are also being improved.

Developers are finding ways to optimize the number of simultaneous calls that these multipoint control unit bridges can handle.

Video Conferencing Solution - The Three-Way Conference Trend

It's a busy, busy world that people live in today. There always seems to be more things to do than the time to do them. Now more than ever, distance separates everyone; not just family but business associates too.

Video conferencing is a free technology that is changing the way people get together. Unlike phone conferences, you can actually see the person and read all of their facial cues. Conferencing is not limited by numbers either. In fact, three way conferencing is a growing trend everywhere.

The Perks of a Three-way

Time is everything these days and there never seems to be enough of it. Three-way conferencing can't add time to the clock, but it can help save it. Three-way conferencing makes good business sense. If your boss, a client and you need to meet to discuss a pertinent detail, it would be extremely difficult to arrange a meeting on short notice. Even more so if the client is oversees.

Business isn't the only aspect of life that can benefit from three-way conferencing. Family members can find a new way to reconnect with this simple technology. Anyone who has a computer, web camera, and internet connection can learn to join in on a three-way. It is more personal than a phone call and more affordable than airfare.

Finding the Right Three-way

There are several sites available that offer three-way services. The one you choose will depend on what you need. Each site offers its own pros and cons.

SKYPE is typically seen as a person to person service, but they do have conferencing abilities. You will need to download software to operate this program, but it is fairly user friendly once installed. Add the participants to your invite list and you will be ready to meet.

Palbee is a web-based service so you won't be required to download anything. You will need a webcam and an active account with Palbee. Video conferences do have a one hour time limit.

Wengomeeting is also a web-based service that needs a Flash Player to operate. Downloading a Flash Player is simple and free, so that shouldn't be a hindrance. Once installed this system has a invitation form that the user fills out to inform guests of the conference. This system will run on Windows, Mac and Linux.

The iChat service is only available to MacOSX users. It is free and has several custom options for the computer savvy. It allows you to add background and sound to your conference. If you want your friends to think you are in sunny Jamaica instead of Pittsburgh, there's an app for that.

OoVoo is also a conference service that you will have to download software in order to use. You can utilize any basic equipment to run it. Once you have the software, it has a system that helps you invite people to your meeting.

There are many types of three-way video conferencing services available. With all the variety, you should be able to find the one that works for you. The services are easy to learn and use. So maybe it is time to log on and make the world that much smaller.

The Basics of Video Transcoding for YouTube

If you want to broadcast your media across the web and most effective method is to use social video sharing sites such as YouTube, as you may know this particular site allows you to take a video file which may reside in your hard drive and upload it to their servers in order to be published and syndicated.

As easy as video sharing may sound it is not very obvious where many people however, the idea of sharing videos with friends can be very exciting. In order to overcome the technological lingo and difficulties that come with video transcoding we must first evaluate the tools that we have available to do so, a webcam is a very useful tool if you want to have a video conversation or Web conference with big group of people or with a friend, webcams are indeed useful but when it comes to video broadcast they are not the best type of hardware that you want to be using, this is because webcams are only able to capture video on a frame by frame basis.

In order to illustrate this point lets make reference to a traditional video frame rate, a DVD movie normally has 30 frames per second which produces a more natural movement as you watch the sequence, other videos may have a lower frame rate which could be even 24 frames per second, these are still very watchable videos however, if you lower the frame rate to let's say 15 frames per second you will notice that the video movement will not be as fluid as other videos and could get very choppy, this is exactly what you will get by using a webcam.

There are better options when it comes to video capture, the best tool that you could use is obviously a video recorder but if you don't have one of these you could use a digital camera which is capable of capturing video in MPEG-4 format or even a cell phone but then again a cell phone may not capture video with the best possible quality.

Once you have captured your video is time to transcode it for YouTube, if your device has captured the scene in MPEG-4 format, AVI, WMV, MPEG or MOV then you are ready to go because YouTube is able to receive such files and then convert them to FLV which is extension for flash media. In order to achieve good quality after YouTube does the conversion you will need to upload a file which has a resolution of 640x480, if you're not able to upload at this resolution you may also upload files at 320 x 240 but they've may not have the best possible quality which can be achieved at a higher resolution. When uploading files to YouTube, remember to edit their time-frame because the site is only able to post videos which last for up to 10 minutes, anything beyond that may not be published so be aware of the time limit.

Video Conferencing - Across the Table and Across the Globe

Thanks to the progression of technology, the growth of the video conference means that you can be sitting across the table from someone who is across the globe. Bringing people together from remote locations with the use of broadband Internet has become increasingly popular in the business and educational realms. The basic equipment includes a computer with Internet access, a microphone and web cam. This once expensive technology is now more affordable. This reduction in cost makes it more available as businesses try to adapt to the global nature of companies and corporations.

Video conferencing saves businesses and university's money on travel expenses. The obvious savings are airfare and lodging expenses, but the benefits exceed these actual savings. With video conferencing, more people could work from home. With fewer people commuting the benefits to the environment are profound. In addition, this adaptability creates job opportunities for parents with small children, reducing childcare expenses. Seniors who want to continue working, but are unable to travel can still participate in an active way. Disabled adults looking to increase their productivity will have fewer barriers due to the adaptive nature of video conferencing.

Universities use video conferencing to broadcast lectures from one location to another. Students can benefit from sitting under the teaching of professors in another part of the country or world. Highly skilled and sought after leaders in their fields can be more accessible and have a greater impact with the advancing technology that makes video conferencing available.

Governments can also make use of the technology of video conferences in political negotiations. With the world becoming more like a global village, the interactions of political allies is even more important. By taking advantage of video conferences, countries can become more connected without any extra expense. Global politics and negotiations are of utmost importance. Bringing as many people together in a conference setting is not always practical. Video conferencing makes it possible.

For many corporations and companies, the idea of a global cyber community makes good business sense.
